Welcome to the barn at Long Branch Farm, a restored barn that overlooks 22 beautiful acres in the heart of the Appalachian mountains.

Newly restored and renovated, the barn is privately situated a half mile off the main road, but is only a 5-10 minute drive into the bustling small town of Lansing. Visit our café in downtown Lansing, the Lansing Café & General Store. We look forward to hosting you!

ABOUT THE BARN:

The barn at Long Branch Farm is an entertainers paradise, featuring an open floor plan lined with french doors overlooking a wild meadow. This space was meticulously renovated and furnished for comfort and relaxation, a perfect getaway for family and friends.

PRIMARY BEDROOM- king size bed with soft organic bedding. French doors that open up to a cozy sitting space on the deck. Attached main bathroom with walk-in shower, vanity, washer & dryer, and closet.

SECONDARY BEDROOM- queen size bed with soft organic bedding, an armoire for clothing, and an attached half bathroom with sink and toilet.

DINING ROOM- seats for 6. Situated in the open living space where you can open up the french doors for a fresh breeze.

LIVING ROOM- has a large comfortable couch, plush arm chair, and a TV with streaming options.

MAIN BATHROOM- full bathroom with walk-in shower, large vanity with sink, a closet, and stacked washer & dryer. Toiletries and essentials provided.

KITCHEN- a beautiful kitchen designed to cook! All brand new smart appliances with a large farmhouse sink. Plenty of counter space for food prep. Kitchen essentials provided.

OUTDOORS- 500 sqft. of deck that extends off the main living space. Equipped with lounge seating, chairs, and table for enjoying the peaceful meadow view. There is a fire pit right off the deck. You will also have access to the downstairs and surrounding area of the barn.

*The barn sits approximately 100 yards from a historic log cabin (also available for rent). Perfect for larger parties who wish to rent both spaces, but far enough away to still be private and secluded.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:

Pets (well-behaved dogs only) are welcome, but please be mindful. The barn has soft pine floors and furnishings I wish to keep in good shape. There is a $50 pet fee.

The barn is situated in a quintessential "holler", which is a valley a ways back off the main road. It is very private, which is a huge draw for folks staying there.

The driveway is a long gravel/dirt driveway that has a small incline at the beginning before flattening out. 4WD or AWD vehicles are not required in normal conditions, but do keep in mind the possibility of snow and ice in the winter and check the forecast before your stay. Plan your vehicle accordingly. There may be mud, bumps, and rivets in the driveway that happen after harsh weather. I do my best to keep it maintained, but the mountain weather can be rough on driveway conditions. Please be aware that Ashe County is more rural than many other mountain areas, so road and driveway conditions can be rougher than you’re used to. Low-to-the-ground vehicles, such as sedans, are not the most comfortable in this area.

Please note the driveway is narrow and passing is only possible in a few spots. You don't often run into oncoming vehicles, but be mindful just in case you encounter an oncoming vehicle. This is especially important given the other rental on the property.

To enter the barn living space, you have to walk up a set of natural stone steps from the parking area. It's not many steps, but it is something to be aware of as you'll need to carry your belongings up the steps.
